Beginner/Intermediate Level   St. Patrick’s bear  11½″ x 7½″  45 pieces, Easter Bunny bear  9″ x 12″  40 pieces, Fourth of July bear   10″ x 10″  45 pieces.
I used aspen for the 4th of July bear’s vest & flag. After sanding it I added a little red artist oil paint to the Old Masters clear gel for red & a little blue to the gel for the blue. I applied one coat of the color & two coats of clear. I only add color to parts of the flag, it just doesn’t seem right to have the U.S. flag in shades of brown. A Wonder Wheel  was used for adding texture. Woods Used:  Various shades of Western Red Cedar, Aspen for the White, Walnut, Walnut dowels for eyes. Suggested Blades:  Gold #5 for Western Red Cedar or any softwood. Platinum Plus #5,  Platinum #5,  TLB #5  for the hardwoods.  PLP-2/0, or TLB #2/0 to cut the interior lines (after the exterior lines are cut).
