"Snowman and Cardinal" is the Sixth Release in the "Lost Patterns" Series.
Snowmen are so FUN! Who doesn't love a cute, whimsical, innocent, friendly snowman! ..and Judy Gale Roberts was no exception! She loved creating these delightful little creatures and adding yet another favorite element to the mix. This particular pattern with a vibrant Red Cardinal, a favorite winter sighting, is another "LOST" pattern that she never released, but... it is now "FOUND"!
Thank You, Sue Marshall from Washington State!
Your kindness in creating this demonstration piece from the Judy Gale Roberts' "Lost Patterns Series" is a tribute, not only to your talent and beautiful work, but to your loyalty and respect for Judy. We appreciate you!
Woods Used: Sue used Aspen for the snowman and the snow drift, Canarywood for the scarf, Bloodwood and Peruvian Walnut for the cardinal and Cumaru for the hat. The nose, buttons, and eyes are dowels, and the nose was painted with acrylics.
She also used a wood burner for the buttons and for the fringe on the scarf.
Blades Used: Sue's "go-to" blade for this and other projects was the MG-3 .
She finished with Old Masters Pickling White on the snow and then finally over it all with Old Masters Wipe One or you could use Old Masters Clear Satin Gel Polyurethane.
