Baby (brown throated) Sloth in a frame with an optional branch. The pattern is borderline Intermediate because of the detailed face.
Woods Used: I used lots of Spalted Maple, a little Spalted Hackberry, Aspen, and Peruvian Walnut. I used barn wood for the frame. I did not make the branch, however I would use Green Poplar for the leaves, and Peruvian Walnut for the branch. The photo, that comes with the pattern of the finished piece, includes many sideview photos to help with shaping.
A Wonder Wheel was used for adding a rough fur-like texture. This is a great piece to get comfortable with the Wonder Wheel.
Suggested Blades: Gold #5 for Pine or any softwood. Platinum Plus #3, Platinum #5, Pegas #3 or 5, TLB #5 for the hardwoods. PLP #2/0, or TLB #2/0 to cut the interior lines (after the exterior lines are cut).
