Beginner/Intermediate Level Watermelon 10 x 8½” 51 pieces Pears 10” x 8½” 33 pieces.
Fruit Series: Watermelon & Pear with checkerboard frame. A wood-burner was used to add the watermelon & pear seeds.
A Wonder Wheel was used for adding texture.
Woods Used: Various shades of Western Red Cedar for the background, Aspen for the White, Yellow Heart, Pink My Lady.
Woods Used on this watermelon: Red Heart, two shades of Green Poplar, Spalted Maple background, Buckeye for the shadow, Aspen for the white. I remade the melon because I had some great green poplar.
Suggested Blades: Gold #5 for Western Red Cedar or any softwood. Platinum Plus #5, Platinum #5, TLB #5 for the hardwoods. PLP-2/0, or TLB #2/0 to cut the interior lines (after the exterior lines are cut).
