Intermediate - Advanced Level 26 1/2″ x 14 1/2″ 187 total pieces

Woods Used: 7/8" thick Spalted Maple for most of the turtle, the board varied in color from light to medium. The Spalted Maple was purchased from www.thelumbershack.com
Other Woods Used: 7/8" Redwood Burl for the medium dark pieces (fins) and top of the head. 3/4" thick Spanish Cedar for the shadow between the upper and lower shell, 3/4" thick Walnut for the dark scales, 3/4" thick Aspen for the white of the eye.

A Wonder Wheel was used for adding texture. Suggested Blades: Gold #5 for Redwood or any softwood. Platinum Plus #5, Platinum Plus #3 , Platinum #5, for the hardwoods. PLP-2/0, or TLB #2/0 to cut the interior lines, to separate pieces that go back together (after the exterior lines are cut).
