Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first two people on the Moon. Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin, both American, landed the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on July 20, 1969, at 20:17

Here's how I sanded the eagle. I made temporary sanding shims (out of 1/4 flat masonite) for the sections outlined in blue. I used light duty double sided carpet tape to attach the sections to the sanding shims. I use this to get the basic shape of the wings, it makes it easier to get the concave shape of the interior of the wing as a unit. Then I take the parts of the sanding shim and add the layered look of the feathers. This really saves me time, because all I'm doing is tapering parts to make it look like the feathers overlap as they reach the wing tips. I attached a photo to help show the technique.

Suggested Blades:  
I use #3 and #5 for most scroll sawing. This project contained many varieties of wood, we had all the blades out! 
Gold #5 for Western Red Cedar or any softwood. 
Platinum Plus #5 & 3's Platinum #5  & 3's  Titanium #5R, for the hardwoods.   
PLP-2/0, or TLB #2/0 to cut the interior lines of parts that go back together (after the exterior lines are cut).
The chart on the right is very helpful, after some experimenting we found #3 blades worked better than a #7 as far as keeping parts square.
Just remember, don't push and change blades often!
