Beginner/Intermediate Level  5" x 14" Osprey 67 pieces, American Kestrel 24 pieces
“Birds of a Feather” are tail feathers from a variety of birds, this set is birds of prey. The patterns are printed on 12” x 18” paper.
Wood Used I used some 1/2” thick barn-wood for the background. 5/8" thick aspen for the white, Peruvian walnut for the dark, and WRC(western red cedar)for the medium wood. You could stack cut the medium and dark parts on the Osprey.
The lettering is fretwork (cut out like a stencil). I applied the pattern to the back of the barn-wood because the surface was so uneven. I used the Wonder Wheel to add a light texture to each feather. I glued each feather to a backing, then screwed from the back of the barn-wood. There are more instructions on the pattern.
Blades Used Gold #5 for Western Red Cedar or any softwood. Pegas #3 or 5Platinum Plus #5, Titanium #5, Titanium #5RPlatinum #5,  TLB #5  for the hardwoods.  PLP #2/0, or TLB #2/0 to cut the interior lines (after the exterior lines are cut).
